In 1930, the Maintenance Wing of the Chilean Air
Force is created; 54 years later, on March 16, 1984,
Enaer, Empresa Nacional de Aeronáutica de
Chile, starts operating.
The Chilean Air Force played a key role upon
its creation, by contributing the initial capital,
resources, and staff required. Enaer was established
to encourage the capability of repairing aircraft,
engines, and components on a local basis, counteract
the restrictions to access the foreign markets
then existing, and develop the means to absorb
the heavy burden derived from the complexity and
specialization of the depot maintenance resulting
from the technological advances.
Today, with more than 70 years of experience
gained in the field of the aviation, Enaer is
one of the most important aeronautical centers
in Latin America.
Empresa Nacional de Aeronáutica de Chile
continues growing, by adding new technological
capabilities to its processes, meeting its goals
of serving the commercial, civil, and military
aviation, and complying with all the requirements
and certifications as imposed by the international
aviation market.
